Gramps: Oh, hello Crinkle. I was having a little snooze. What have you been up to? Anything exciting?
Crinkle: No, but I’ve seen something that worries me. The Clunkers are putting up lots more of those ‘Private Keep Out’ signs.
Gramps: I don’t think there’s much that can be done about it, Crinkle. Hawk Enterprises own most of the Greenwood now, and they can do what they like.
Crinkle: But Gramps! It’s not right what they’re doing. They cut down all the trees, make a mess, and leave the animals with nowhere to live!
Gramps: I know. I know. If I was fifty years younger I might take up cudgels against them, but with my poor old legs I can’t do much.
Crinkle: But I could, if I knew what to do.
Gramps: Now don’t you go doing anything silly. The only way you can do anything is by getting someone else involved.
Crinkle: How can I do that? Who should I talk to?
Gramps: The town council at Forest View is probably in Hawk’s pocket. Most of the forest people have left. I really don’t know who could help.
Crinkle: There must be someone besides us who doesn’t want to see all of the Greenwood destroyed. There must be!
Gramps: There is someone. Wibble. He has powers that no-one else has. He sees what we can’t see, hears what we can’t hear, and knows what we can’t know.
Crinkle: Where would I find Wibble?
Gramps: Now there’s a question. Only Wibble knows where Wibble is. But if he knows you need him, he will let you find him.
Crinkle: Where do I start? Where do I go?
Gramps: You need a map. I bet you’ve never seen one. Since Hawk came here, all maps have mysteriously disappeared. But I have one.
Crinkle: I’ve heard about maps but never seen one. Do you really have a map?
Gramps: It’s hidden in my old puzzle chest in the shed. I’m afraid you’ll have to try to open the chest on your own. My silly legs aren’t in the mood for walking today.
Gramps: While you’re looking in the shed I’ll have a little nap.
Gramps: Crinkle! Watch out for Dingly Dangly Spoodles! At this time of year there’s usually an infestation of them in the old shed.
